the role of the wild soul: awakening our intuitive nature
Intuition is powerful—but also tricky. It’s not logical or provable. It’s wild. Feral. Embodied. It shows up as a somatic blast, a deep inner knowing that doesn’t always come with instructions.
I feel it often—those strong hits in my body—but decoding them? That’s the hard part. What does that ache mean? That pull? That shimmer?
Over time, working with the Earth Archetypes, I’ve refined my intuition and learned to listen to it. Each Wild Soul Woman offers a different way to strengthen and trust our intuition, depending on where we are in our lives and which ones we are most drawn to in the moment.
The following practices are designed to help you understand what your body already knows.
How Each Archetype Awakens Intuition
Desert Woman
Energy: Resilient, resourceful, and attuned to silence.
Intuitive Wisdom: Desert Woman teaches us to listen deeply in the stillness. In landscapes where little grows, intuition sharpens. She reminds us that clarity often comes in the absence of noise, in the hush of solitude.
Practice:
Sit in silence, away from distraction. Let the quiet speak.
Ask: What wisdom arises when everything else is stripped away?
Practice minimalist journaling—one sentence, one image, one essential truth.
Forest Woman
Energy: Dreamlike, curious, patient.
Intuitive Wisdom: Forest Woman understands the long gestation of insight. She teaches that intuition often roots quietly, in the shadowy undergrowth of the psyche, and blossoms in its own time.
Practice:
Spend time beneath trees. Let your gaze wander. Let your thoughts unfurl.
Ask: What is slowly growing in me that I can’t yet see?
Create space for imagination—freewrite from a half-formed image or memory, without trying to force its meaning.
Ocean & River Woman
Energy: Flowing, emotional, and expansive.
Intuitive Wisdom: Ocean & River Woman speaks through feeling, tide, and tempo. She teaches us to trust the currents of emotion, knowing that truth often arrives in waves, not straight lines.
Practice:
Sit near water or hold a bowl of water in ritual. Tune in to how you feel—without trying to fix or define it.
Ask: Where am I resisting the flow? Where am I ready to surrender?
Try stream-of-consciousness writing or intuitive dance to loosen control and let inner wisdom surface.
Mountain Woman
Energy: Grounded, steady, and visionary.
Intuitive Wisdom: Mountain Woman offers a wide, high view. She reminds us that intuition is not always a whisper—it can also be a firm knowing, rooted in integrity and altitude.
Practice:
Climb, or simply stand in an elevated place. Reflect on what comes into focus when you rise above the fray.
Ask: What truth stands tall in me, no matter the weather?
Practice stillness. Let the mountain in you speak through dreams, meditations, or deliberate pauses in your day.
Grassland Woman
Energy: Communal, nurturing, adaptive.
Intuitive Wisdom: Grassland Woman shows us how intuition lives not just in solitude, but in the heart of everyday life. Amid the rustle of responsibilities, she helps us reach for tendrils of connection—both inner and outer.
Practice:
Tune in to intuitive nudges in the midst of conversation, caregiving, or community.
Ask: Where am I being called to tend or connect more deeply?
Write about a recent moment of resonance or dissonance in relationship—what was your intuition telling you?
And let me know what you learn about your wild, wise intuition.
