HOW DO WE FLOW WITH OUR FEMININE ENERGY?

Writes Jeans Shinoda Bolen in Goddesses in Everywoman. “When a woman senses that there is a mythic dimension to something she is undertaking, that knowledge touches and inspires a deep creative center in her.”

At age 27, newly sober, and scared to death of living without alcohol, I had what I now see as a mystical experience. Standing on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean on a stormy day, I felt the strength of the ocean enter my body. I tasted salt in my mouth and didn’t know if it was the ocean’s or mine. I felt completely at one with that immense body of water.

That moment was my turning point. In experiencing a deep connection with the wild ocean, I began, slowly, to embrace my own true nature: embodied, Earth-centered, vital. I began to claim myself as a Wild Soul Woman.

The energy of the wild feminine has been building up for years, like water behind a dam. Each year, new raindrops are added, more estuaries join the flow. The water is rising, dangerously. You can feel the anticipation, the sense of something about to break free from its constraints and reshape the world as we know it.

But how do we flow with this wild feminine energy? Dance with it? Own it? Live it?

This is the focus of my upcoming online class at the Rowe Center: Awakening to the Ocean and River Woman Archetype: A Five Part Writing Workshop.

Like a devotee entering a sacred river, immersing yourself to this watery archetype you lay claim to the wild river of your wanting.

The initiated Ocean and River Woman knows how to dance with her emotions in a way that brings her fully alive. No longer afraid to express her emotions, they become the current that sets the course of her life and commences her own re-birthing process.

As you dive deeper into this powerful archetype, you will learn the art of surrendering to the greater currents of our life. You’ll break through dam/ned emotions and begin to ride the wild river of your wanting. Exploring your emotional depths, you will discover the hidden treasures beneath the surface.

The Latin derivative for the word emotion, ‘emotere’, literally means energy in motion. When you are in touch with your feelings, life tends to flow in the direction of your soul’s deepest desires.  Like a river that moves mountains to unite with the ocean, your longing leads you home

This series will take you into your depths. But you will also get to splash and play with your creativity and a circle of like-hearted companions. We will write, come together to share our discoveries, and then dive into the depths again.

If you long to feel more alive, more connected to your true desires and holy longings, please take the plunge and register with Rowe for Awakening to the Ocean and River Woman Archetype: A Five-Part Writing Workshop, starting Tuesday, June 8.
